Care
- Scale insects are best controlled with a soap-alcohol solution. Spider mites can often simply be rinsed off in the shower. - Plants sensitive to direct sun are well placed in an east or west window with mild morning or evening sun. - Over time, the soil loses some important properties. Therefore, plants should be repotted every two years in spring into a larger pot with fresh potting soil. - High water permeability of the substrate is extremely important: waterlogging and standing water in the pot inevitably lead to rot.
Location
This houseplant loves a semi-shady to shady spot, but drafts are definitely not its thing. Its comfortable temperatures are around 21°C in summer, but especially in winter, the temperature should not fall below 12°C.
